My new hammered dulcimer arrived late last week.

It’s a James Jones Custom 3/16/18/9 with a redwood soundboard, curly maple frame and pin panels, cardinal wood trim, cherry bridges, and curly maple dampers. 7/8″ string spacing. All natural finish.

This is the first instrument I’ve had custom built. James Jones is the luthier.

This instrument is slightly bigger in size than my previous Masterworks 15/14. With the size increase comes a much broader range and additional chromatics.
